While incarcerated, Blanchard wed Ryan Anderson in July 2022.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Files Temporary Restraining Order Against Estranged Husband
Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who has been married for less than two years, filed for divorce and obtained a temporary restraining order against her husband.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard, 32, filed the restraining order against her estranged husband, Ryan Anderson, at the 17th Judicial District Court in the Parish of Lafourche, Louisiana, on Thursday, according to court records that ET was able to access.
Three days after Gypsy Rose Blanchard filed for divorce from the special education teacher in Louisiana, a restraining order was issued. Blanchard filed on Monday in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, just before 2:00 p.m., according to court documents. This was one week after she revealed their separation in a private Facebook post that People was able to obtain.
“People have been inquiring about my life’s circumstances. At that time, she added, “Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation, so I moved in with my parents’ house down the bayou.” “My friends and family are here to support me and help me get through this. I’m getting better at following my gut. I need some time right now to discover who I am.”
After the divorce was filed on Monday, ET contacted Blanchard’s representatives. They informed us that Blanchard would not be making any more statements and that fans will be able to watch the entire tale when her new show premieres on Lifetime in June.
Since her release on parole, Gypsy Rose Blanchard has been transparent about her life with Lifetime and our cameras. Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up, which premieres on Lifetime in June, will follow her story, including her friendship with Ryan, the network stated.
Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up, Anderson’s docuseries, will reveal what “really happened” to viewers in two months, he said in an Instagram post over the weekend. Anderson also echoed Lifetime’s announcement regarding the breakup.
“Hey, everybody, I just wanted to say thank you all for the support and the nice messages I’ve been getting from people,” the man stated in the clip. “You guys will witness the truth on Lifetime. Keep an eye out for it since we were filming a lot.”
Following her December release from prison, Blanchard filed for divorce as the petitioner in this case. She had spent seven years in prison for the second-degree murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. She started writing to Anderson while incarcerated, and the two were married in July 2022.
Speaking with Blanchard and Anderson in January, ET learned about their semi-newlywed happiness and their future goals, which at the time included starting a family and a joint life.
Regarding having children, “I don’t have any reservations,” she stated. “We both have talked about starting a family, we just don’t know when yet.”
“Right now, my life is a little crazy. We’re just attempting to handle things day by day, she said. “We’re just trying to start off the marriage on a good foot before we bring kids into this situation right now.”
Additionally, Blanchard has been seen socializing with her ex-husband Ken Urker. She revealed in her 2024 Lifetime documentary, The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, that she stayed in touch with Urker even after she married Anderson and that their relationship was limited to friendship. Nevertheless, it seems that their relationship is not romantic. People was told by Urker’s mother, Raina Williams, that the two are just “very cool.”
“Ken is just being a supportive friend to her and that’s it,” she stated. She seems like a nice girl to me. She’s made errors, I believe, and like everyone else, she’s attempting to grow from them. Additionally, Gypsy is very important to me, and I want the best for her.”

Recently, ET verified that Blanchard had a rhinoplasty to modify the contour of her nose. She revealed that in addition to her ongoing emotional and mental development after being released from prison, she hopes to bring about some concrete changes. She also gave several inches of her hair, which she had trimmed off, to The Great Cut, an organization that makes wigs for underprivileged children, in January.
“I’m currently on a journey of personal development, which also involves a physical one. The real-life inspiration behind Hulu’s The Act, “Wish me luck with my surgery and watch the whole thing this summer on Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up,” she said to ET in reference to her nose operation.
In the past, Blanchard has discussed how her time in prison caused her to go through a season of transformation.
Last month, Blanchard shared a number of long TikTok videos in which she gave an explanation for her recent Instagram account deletion. At one point, the account had over 7.8 million followers. Since then, Blanchard has made her account private and declared her intention to remain it that way.
“I do my best to live my authentic life and what’s real to me, and what’s not real is social media,” she said. “You can literally enter hell through social media. It’s very bizarre. I’m having trouble even understanding what social media is. I assumed that after I was released from prison, I would use social media like everyone else, posting funny photos and engaging in other online activities. It’s just the little things in life, isn’t it?
Blanchard attested to the fact that she had not merely temporarily canceled her account. She erased it forever.
“I actually had a great talk with my dad about what had happened. I feel like I truly need the advice he provided me. She explained, “And the purpose of that guidance was to demonstrate to me that real life is something you can touch and feel.” “Humans that you can truly embrace.” In addition, I simply don’t want to spend my life under constant observation given the intense level of public attention. I made my own secret Instagram account. And I received confirmation of it. I deleted the public one without any difficulty or hesitation.”
Now that the media spotlight has subsided a little, Blanchard said she is using treatment to improve herself. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who had helped her and “walked this journey with me.” But in the end, Blanchard stated that she wanted to live a private life away from the spotlight, and the first step in that direction was closing her well-known Instagram account.
“At the moment, I still have my public TikTok,” she continued. “Considering removing it in a few months. Perhaps fewer posts overall.”
